Calverley Walking Nativity
9 December from 4pm (starting point at The Cenotaph in Calverley Park)
Fantastic initiative by Calverley Parish Church to bring the story of the first Christmas to the community, now in its third year.
We are helping to organise the event so if you can help in any way we would be delighted to hear from you.
The Christmas story will unfold at various places around the village, with the community encouraged to follow the journey, bring a lantern and sing a few carols on the way. If you would like to dress up in Christmas costumes you are positively encouraged to (wrap up warm though).
We specifically need the following if possible:
Shepherds and Angels are required to help people on the way. If you are able to give up a few hours to help people across the road, point them in the right direction.
If you are in a brass band or know anyone who is, we are hoping for a brass band to accompany the proceedings.
We are looking for people who could help with outside lighting and microphones.
As many of you are aware Creative Calverley encourage people to light candles and put them on your doorstep/window from the 1st December in the lead up to Christmas.
It would be fantastic if as many windows as possible could be lit up with candles to help light the way for the Christmas Story to unfold.
There is a link here to a fantastic set of instructions on how to make your own willow lanterns.
