HELP WANTED PLEASE
Church bells are rung in the village for special occasions and only because people have volunteered their time and talent (often from outside the village), to enable this to happen.
Calverley "tower" are looking for new bell ringers who can commit to regular practise sessions. Practise night is Thursday evenings (with bellringing also needed for Sunday service).
11 November 2018 is the centenery of the first Armistice Day and it is hoped that people from Calverley could ring the bells in Calverley tower once more.

Future of Calverley Methodist Church Building
A survey to obtain feedback on future of the building will be launched at Calverley Carnival. The survey will run until the 14 July.
Please visit the Methodist Church Stall to obtain your copy of the survey. Copies will also be available from the Post Office, Library.
Thanksgiving service for the NHS, Sunday 8 July 3pm, St Wilfrid's.
We're saying thank you for the NHS. We'll have people sharing about their work and what the NHS means to them. If you've been a patient and particularly if you work in healthcare, we'd love to see you. A short service followed by a cream tea. Bring the kids.....

Creative Calverley Diary Dates 2018
Throughout the year Creative Calverley host many different events. Details of events will be listed here.

RSPB Garden Birdwatch, January 2018 Download/request your pack here.
Watch birds from the comfort of your own home, or enjoy a stroll outdoors.
Throughout 2018 we will be holding a series of events in the village to increase nesting sites and knowledge about these magnificent birds.
Events will include:
Nest box building
Information sessions about swifts
Free seeds to be distributed to help bring insects to your garden.
The Happiness Project, 24 to 30 March 2018
Week long initiative to encourage people to be happier, share time, activities, fun and possibly challenge people to try new experiences-activities.
To make at least one person (hopefully more people) happier during the focus week.
Calverley Sunflower Challenge starts 1 April (judging 12 August)
Plant a seed and grow the tallest sunflower or the sunflower with the largest head.
Calverley Big Lunch, 3 June 2018 (various locations around the village)
Communal picnic, bring and share, street party, garden party.
Scareycrows, 27 until 31 October 2018
We are the first village in the UK to have Halloween themed scarecrows.
(Please note: A certain number of scarecrows need to be entered to enable the event to proceed). The scarecrows will form a trail around the village.
Themes are: Books, Creative, Traditional and Halloween.
Advent Windows,, 1 until 24 December 2018
Theme is "Pantomime".
Decorate a window based on the pantomime of your choice using paint, Christmas decorations, sculpture (anything you like). A new window is lit each evening. The windows will form a seasonal trail around the village.
