Calverley in Bloom, 28 March 2022, Calverley Conservative Club, 7pm, All welcome

New venue, new time.  Calverley in Bloom would be delighted to invite you to attend our meeting.  Any support/time you are able to give is gratefully received.

Perhaps you could look after a specific patch in the village?

Free Beech, Birch, Hawthorn, Oak (plants/whips) available

If you would like some of these plants to grow a hedge. or fill a space in the garden, please let us know.

Email with the plants that you prefer, your address and contact details and we will arrange to have the plants delivered to your address.

Calverley Kindness Map

We have input the number of volunteers on each street who are willing and able to offer support to those in need across the village.

Details of the kindness map are available on our Facebook page.

With the ongoing situation, many events have been cancelled until further notice. However, we have listed below some of the things that may be of use.

Creative Calverley Diary Dates 2021

Throughout the year Creative Calverley host many different events. Details of events will be listed here.

Some of the annual established events are listed below. Further new events will be posted during the year.


RSPB Garden Birdwatch, January 2021

Watch birds from the comfort of your own home, or enjoy a stroll outdoors.

Calverley Swifts


The swifts will be back with us soon. Any help that we can give by putting up a nest box is much appreciated.

Throughout 2021 we will be holding a series of events in the village to increase nesting sites and knowledge about these magnificent birds.

Events will include:

Swift watch

Nest box building

Information sessions about swifts

Free seeds to be distributed to help bring insects to your garden.

The Happiness Project, Dates to be confirmed March 2021


Week long initiative to encourage people to be happier, share time, activities, fun and possibly challenge people to try new experiences-activities.

To make at least one person (hopefully more people) happier during the focus week.

Calverley Sunflower Challenge (usually run 1 April to 12 August)


In view of the current situation we are not holding our sunflower competition, but there is a resident initiative listed below.

Calverley Big Lunch, 5/6 June 2021 (various locations around the village)


Communal picnic, bring and share, street party, garden party.

Heritage Open Days in the village, possibly September 2021 (various locations around the village)

Various activities and events around the village over the weekend.

Scareycrows, October half term week


In 2012 we were the first village in the UK to have Halloween themed scarecrows.

Themes are: Songs, Creative, Traditional and Halloween.

Advent Windows,, 1 until 24 December 2020


Theme is "Christmas".

Decorate a window based on the general theme of Christmas and your choice using paint, Christmas decorations, sculpture (anything you like).

A new window is lit each evening. The windows will form a seasonal trail around the village.
